Poker Gives has announced that, for the second year, September will be designated as National Poker Month (NPM). National Poker Month is a fundraising project created as an annual nationwide venue that unites the poker world to generate goodwill through “giving back” and supporting worthwhile charities.

Poker Gives is asking cardrooms in the United States to select one of the following options to participate:
Option 1: Select one day during the month of September to host a charity poker tournament. Half of the proceeds from that event will go to Poker Gives and half will remain in the prize pool. The buy-in amount will be chosen by each individual cardroom, but we recommend a range of $50-$100 and perhaps have $50 optional re-buys and an add-on.
Option 2: Donate a minimum of $1 from the tournament entry fee for each entrant into every tournament during the month or add a $5 add-on for the month to all of your tournaments.
Option 3: Come up with a fundraising plan of your own. Of course you are welcome to combine any of the above options.
Your participation in National Poker Month is a great way to get more players into your cardroom. We are asking our national charities to include your cardroom name and the date of your event on their websites. Additionally, there will be a great deal of media coverage regarding NPM including a listing of all participating cardrooms in ads and articles in BLUFF Magazine and other poker media. Also, in August we will send you a sign for your room, as well as a flyer you can distribute.
If you choose to hold a tournament, your winner and your cardroom each will receive a special customized plaque for participating.
The funds raised by Poker Gives will be distributed to the various charities selected by Poker Gives.
