POKER GIVES RAISES $36000 FOR CHARITIES

The first annual PokerGives.org "Shuffle Up for Poker Gives" charity tournament took place on Thursday, June 4th, at the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas. With nearly 90 participants, half of the prizepool was distributed among the top ten finishers while the other $10,000 was shared among The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Special Olympics, and Paralyzed Veterans Association. PokerNews.com executive editor Haley Hintze took home around $4,000 in prize money, along with a Rockwell Time watch, and will be entered into the exclusive 2010 WPT™ Celebrity Invitational.

The following day, PokerGives.org hosted a silent auction at the second annual Women in Poker Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, raising another $16,000. An anonymous donator pledged to match the funds up to $10,000.
